Knarrefest 2004
After much apprehension, organizers decided to press on and hold Knarrefest in September of 2004. This even had the most synergy of any previous Knarrefests.
Highlights include:
- Jim Hores brings his deep fryer and makes turkey and wings for everyone. God bless you Jim Hores.
- Todd Kilponen and Geoff Keehn bring a P.A. System, giving us the best audio Knarrefest has ever had.
- Joey Meade keeps the crowd in check, prompting them when and when not to cheer, also assists in the t-shirt raffle.
- Matt Burke shows up early (as always) to help set up and get the kegs
- Mike Kilkenny makes his now infamous (and currently second place) meatballs.
- Damien Fahey takes time out of his busy schedule to do some stand-up and run the t-shirt raffle.
Performers include:
- Uchechi A great band from North Jersey-sadly they broke up right after this event.
- Deck of Jack Jim Shearer comes back with a vengeance for his second Knarrefest performance. This year Deck of Jack featured bass player Fuzz and a very controversial drum machine named Ichiro.
- The Lifetime Guarantee Hailing from Pittsburgh, PA, this trio sings and harmonizes like angels while singing about fun yet vile day-to-day activities. Their filthy lyrics caused an early exit for a few parents and small children.
Music aside, this party was not without its controversy. For the first time in its history, the organizers opted to lure people with visual stunts. Ron Rigoli shaving his moustache was met with both joy and disgust. For the most part no one cared. This was probably the biggest bust since Geraldo opened up Al Capone's vault and found nothing. having his stash gone had no affect on anyone.
The original concept for Knarrefest seemed to be lost with the addition of games and cheap stunts. Once again, the future for Knarrefest was on shaky ground.
